The First Weeks

Having flown back to UK on 7th May I’m back out on a flight to Denver on 10th via Frankfurt where I met up with MJ. A combination of road trip and conferencing lays ahead.

Old friends visited in Fort Collins then out to Arches NP in Utah and on to Mesa Verde. Amazing geological formations and an insight to the civilizations that existed long before the influx of Europeans.

Long stretches of road covered reminding us of how small Britain (and Kuwait) is, there will be many hours behind the wheel on this trip!

Arriving in Moad late in the evening it was good to find the Moab Brewery open for food and drink – good food, good beer, good atmosphere and welcoming staff.

Lots of walking to take in sights at both locations. Decided that we were seriously unfit then clocked that, at approx 7000ft, there is not so much oxygen. Could be fitter but will blame the lack of O2.

Recommend both locations if you are ever down this way.

In the beginning

So what is this, a travel blog? No. Well then, a photo blog? No again, it may feature photos but not a photo blog.

Well, what is it?

The aim is to set up a blog that will be an eclectic mix of thoughts, quotes, pictures, places and activities that will give a window through which to view our life once we escape the treadmill of corporate work.

To start a couple of images of what I’ve left behind in Kuwait, MJ will be there for a further year so return visits are on the cards.
